What started as a group of animal-loving volunteers…
Has turned into a staple in our community. For more than 50 years, the Placer SPCA has played a vital role in our community by reuniting lost pets with their owners, enabling struggling families and individuals to keep their pets when times are tough, and matching homeless pets with those searching for a companion. What was created in 1973 through the compassion of a group of volunteers has become a best-practice model for animal care and welfare in our community.
Today, the Placer SPCA is the largest and most comprehensive animal welfare provider in the county and houses, feeds, and cares for up to 4,000 homeless animals annually. We currently operate six facilities: the Adoption & Education Center (Roseville), Veterinary & Foster Care Center (Roseville), Intake Center (Roseville), Pet Adoption and Resource Center (Auburn), Pet Food Express Cat Adoption Center at the Fountains (Roseville), and Thrift Store (Roseville).
The Placer SPCA is not affiliated with any other entity and does not receive donations from ASPCA.
