Popular Gifts

Gifts by Will or Trust

Naming the Placer SPCA as a beneficiary in your will or living trust is a simple and flexible way to leave a lasting gift for animals. You may designate a specific amount, percentage, or property to support the work of the Placer SPCA.

The most common ways to include a gift to the Placer SPCA in your will or trust are to:

  • Name the organization as a beneficiary of a specific bequest
  • Designate a gift to be made from the remainder of your estate

We encourage you to work with an experienced attorney to create a will or living trust that reflects your goals and intentions for your estate.

To avoid any confusion, please include our full legal name and federal tax identification number in your bequest.

Legal Name: Placer Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Placer SPCA)
Address: 200 Tahoe Avenue, Roseville, CA 95678
Tax ID (EIN): 94-2607682

We are happy to consult with you during your planning process. The following sample language may be helpful for you and your attorney when considering a bequest to the Placer SPCA.

Residual Bequest (after other bequests or designations are fulfilled):

“I give the rest and residue (or % of residue) of my estate to the Placer Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Tax ID #94-2607682), to be used wherever the need is greatest.”

Specific Amount or Percentage:

“I give % of my estate (or the sum of $) to the Placer Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Tax ID #94-2607682), to be used wherever the need is greatest.”

Your legacy gift will help create a better future for the animals who share our lives. When you designate a gift in your will or trust to the Placer SPCA, you are eligible to become part of our Circle of Hope legacy society with special benefits and privileges.

For more information or to let us know about your gift, please complete the form below or contact the Development Department at (916) 872-6166.

Account Beneficiary

An easy way to make a future gift is to designate the Placer SPCA as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, life insurance policy, or Donor Advised Fund. This gift is simple because there is no need to modify a will or trust and can be updated at any time.

Consider reviewing your beneficiary forms for your IRA, employee sponsored retirement accounts, Tax Deferred Annuity or contact your bank, broker, or plan administrator to obtain the correct form to include the Placer SPCA in your charitable plan.

To name the Placer SPCA as a beneficiary, be sure to include our legal name and federal tax ID.

Legal Name: Placer Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Placer SPCA)
Current Address: 200 Tahoe Avenue, Roseville, CA 95678
Tax ID: 94-2607682

Note: Please let us know of your gift because many retirement plan administrators assume no responsibility for letting the charity know of your designation. We would love to discuss your philanthropic goals and ensure that they are honored. Also please keep a copy of your forms with your important papers.

When you designate a beneficiary gift to the Placer SPCA, you are eligible to become part of our Circle of Hope legacy society with special benefits and privileges.

Planning for Your Pets’ Future

What would happen to your pets if life took an unexpected turn?

At the Placer SPCA, we believe planning ahead is one of the greatest gifts you can give your animals. One option is to name a trusted friend or family member who can care for your pets if you are no longer able to do so.

If that isn’t possible, the Placer SPCA Surviving Pets Program may be able to help.

In most states, you cannot leave money directly to your pets. However, you can make provisions in your will or trust to ensure their care and adoption. By enrolling in the Surviving Pets Program and including a planned gift to the Placer SPCA, you can have peace of mind knowing your pets will be cared for with compassion.

Your pets depend on you to meet their daily needs – food, water, a warm place to sleep, and love. Planning today helps ensure they continue receiving that care no matter what the future brings.

If you would like to learn whether this program is right for you and your pets, please contact us. Our team will review your situation, discuss available options, and provide enrollment and pet registration forms.
