The Placer SPCA can offer financial assistance to support you and help keep you and your pets together through difficult times.
Financial Assistance
The Placer SPCA’s SOS Program provides one-time financial assistance for Placer County residents facing pet-related hardships, including boarding or rental pet deposits and unforeseen veterinary expenses. Assistance typically does not exceed $500, though special circumstances may be considered.
Affordable veterinary services are also available through our Community Clinic to help keep pets healthy and in their homes.
Boarding/Rental Pet Deposits
Do you live in a rental that requires a pet deposit? We may be able to help.
When you apply for assistance, the Placer SPCA will contact the property owner or manager to confirm the pet deposit details.
In some cases, the SOS Program can also help cover temporary boarding costs. Applicants must provide an estimate from a boarding facility, and we will contact the facility to confirm payment details.

Veterinary Care
The health and wellbeing of animals is very important to us. Through generous donations, we can help with unexpected medical conditions that if left untreated, could seriously affect a pet’s quality of life. Funding is limited to cases with a good prognosis for recovery after treatment.
Animals receiving treatment must be spayed or neutered at the time of treatment if recommended by the veterinarian. Cosmetic procedures, chronic conditions requiring ongoing care, and animals with significant behavior or temperament issues are not eligible.
