Here is the process to get you started on the pathway to finding your forever love.
Step 1.
Look for your perfect match
You can view our available animals by clicking the Meet Our Animals button below. Everything you need to know about the animal is listed under their bio including age, breed, sex, likes/dislikes, adoption fee, etc.
We also encourage you to visit our Adoption & Education Center located at 200 Tahoe Avenue, Roseville, CA 95678, Tuesday through Sunday, 11 am to 4 pm. There you can see many animals available for adoption, as well as learn more about the adoption process. Our staff and volunteers are always happy to help!
Step 2.
Schedule an
appointment
Find an animal you are interested in meeting? The next step is to schedule an appointment. Here are few key considerations we ask you to make when scheduling an appointment:
– Please note the site where the animal is currently located. The Placer SPCA has multiple locations where adoptions take place: Adoption & Education Center, Pet Food Express*, Intake Center, and Pet Adoption & Resource Center. Addresses, hours of operation, and contact information for each facility can be found on our Locations page.
– If the animal you are wanting to meet is currently in a foster home, we require at least 48 hours’ notice so we can notify the foster family.
– Adoption appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
– Scheduling an appointment does not place an animal on hold. Animals remain available for adoption until the adoption process has been completed.
*Pet Food Express cat adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis (no appointments).

Come meet
your match!
Our staff and volunteers will introduce you to your potential match. You will have an opportunity to learn more about the animal including the pet’s history, medical findings and treatments, and behavior disposition. You will also get time to interact with the animal to see if this is a good fit for you both.
Dog-to-Dog Introductions: If you have a dog at home, we may require a dog-to-dog introduction to make sure they are a good fit together. Dog-to-dog introductions take place on a follow-up visit. Please do not bring your dog on the first visit. That time is dedicated for you and the adoptable dog to get to know one another to see if there’s a match.
If a match is made, our staff will work with you to complete the adoption process and then you and your furry new family member will be off to enjoy a great life together!
