Lost a Pet?
We understand the wave of panic and worry that takes over when realizing your beloved furry friend is missing. Acting quickly can make a big difference in being reunited with your pet. We’ve put together steps you can take in hopes of a happy reunion.
Step 1: Check out the found animals page
If you think your pet may be in our care, please visit the Found Animals page. Be sure to read the animal descriptions carefully, as pictures are not always available. Visit the Placer SPCA Intake Center (150 Corporation Yard Rd. in Roseville) to see the stray animals in our care Tuesday through Sunday, 11 am to 4 pm.
Step 2: Look at other local shelters
While the Placer SPCA is only able to accept stray animals from within the City of Roseville, we’ve put together a list of other local shelters to aid in your search.
Step 3: Submit a lost pet form
Submit a Lost Cat, Lost Dog or Lost Critter form with a photo of your missing pet to guestservices@placerspca.org. We will keep this information in our Lost and Found book at the Intake Center for up to six (6) months.
Step 4: Search and post online
Create posts on Facebook Lost & Found pages, Petco Love Lost, PetFinder, PawBoost and other online sites dedicated to reuniting lost pets with their families.
Step 5: Keep in touch
Have you been reunited with your pet? We’d love to hear! Keeping our records current helps us better assist others who have lost their furry friends.
If your pet is not already microchipped, we encourage you to do so for permanent identification. This can be done through the Placer SPCA or any local veterinarian. If your pet is microchipped, please make sure your contact information is up to date.
