Spaying or neutering your pet is one of the most important steps you can take for their health and well-being. Altering pets before maturity – around 4-6 months of age or before a female’s first heat – helps prevent unwanted litters while also reducing the risk of serious health issues and certain negative behaviors.

Reducing Pet Overpopulation
Spaying and neutering remain the most effective ways to reduce the number of homeless pets in our community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, millions of spay and neuter surgeries across the country were delayed or missed, and animal shelters are still feeling the ripple effects today.
