Be Kind to Animals Poster Contest

Does your child love animals and have some serious artistic skills to boot?

Consider entering your 1st through 8th grader in the Placer SPCA’s 2019 Be Kind to Animals Poster Contest! The Be Kind To Animals Poster Contest is an opportunity for students to submit a drawing based on a specific animal topic. Entries may be submitted beginning in late February, and must be entered by April 26, 2019.

POSTER THEMES:

1st and 2nd Grade

Be Kind and Always Love Your Pet: Be gentle, kind, and calm with your pet. Never hit, tease, or make your pet feel bad by chasing, riding, squeezing, or pulling its ears or tail. Each type of pet is different, so make sure you know what they need to be happy and healthy!

3rd and 4th Grade

All Dogs and Cats Need an Identification Tag on Their Collar! Identification tags are the best way to help get your pet back to you if it escapes or gets lost.

5th and 6th Grade

Adoption as Your First Option: All pets require different levels of commitment and care. Make sure you research a pet before you adopt. There are thousands of animals needing loving homes in animal shelters across the country.

7th and 8th Grade

Don’t Litter, Spay and Neuter Your Pets: Spay/neuter is one way to help reduce the pet overpopulation number in our communities and give our pets a healthier life.

ENTRY RULES:

1.            Poster size is 11” by 17” horizontal or vertical.

2.            Follow the specific theme for your grade.

3.            Use any medium such as markers, paint, colored pencil, or crayon. Please no pastels.

4.            Do original work; no tracing or computer generated art.

5.            You may submit multiple entries.

6.            You will be judged on how your art relates to the theme, creativity, and neatness.

 

PRIZES:

Top 4 Winners: One poster from each category will be chosen by the Placer SPCA Humane Education Department. The winners will have their photo with their poster on Placer SPCA website for one year.

Please Note: Winning entries may be made into notecards or bookmarks to be given away or sold at Placer SPCA events. It is up to the discretion of the Humane Educator which winning entries will be made into notecards or bookmarks.
