Community Service

Community Service Projects

The Placer SPCA is proud to offer different community service projects that you can do to help local companion animals! Students and scouts wanting community service hours and a way to help make a difference for the animals in our community are are encouraged to inquire about our projects listed below.

We recognize that students would like to work hands-on with the animals, however, volunteering with the animals requires a long-term time commitment and is not designed for students who need to complete a specific number of hours for school.

Ideas for community service projects

1. Hold a donation drive to collect items from our wish list

2. Hold a fundraiser to raise money for the SPCA

  • Bake sale, craft sale, etc.
  • Collect recycling
  • Choose between a “General Donation” or a “Guardian Angel Donation”

Please let us know what project you have selected and schedule a time to bring in your completed project so that we may acknowledge your hard work and sign any required paperwork.

If you have any questions about which items on the community service project list we may need most at this time or how to complete any of the projects, you may email us at or communityengagement@placerspca.org or call (916) 872-6175.

***Please note that Placer SPCA does not have a program for court-ordered community service.***
