Having a pet is good for you!

Studies with seniors indicate pet companionship lowers blood pressure, alleviates loneliness and depression, and leads to increases in exercise and socializing.

Why adopt an older animal?

Adopting a pet is not only healthy for you, but adopting an older pet helps the animals. Older animals spend a much longer time in shelters waiting for that special someone to take them home. Older pets also make GREAT companion animals. They are typically more well-behaved and mellow, they are able to focus more than a puppy or kitten, and they give lots of love. They have also already grown into their personalities – you know what you’re getting when you get it!
