Every year, we love to honor people, animals, businesses and/or organizations that have gone above and beyond to demonstrate how strong the human-animal bond is. If you know of a local hero, nominate them today for a Placer SPCA Hero Award! Selected recipients will be presented their award at this year’s Funny Bones event on Friday, March 22nd.

Previous recipients include:

Deputy Stan Semenuk

Placer County Sheriff K-9 officer who rescued a dog that was dodging traffic on a busy highway.

Colleen Adamson

who rescues senior and special needs animals throughout the country and finds the loving forever homes.

‘Scout’ the dog

who was matched with his owner through 4 Paws 2 Freedom, a nonprofit that teaches veterans and first responders
disabled with PTSD to train their own dog to become a PTSD service dog.
